This policy explains what SatinSmith ("we", "us") collects when you use the site, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address, and sign-in information handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Your designs: images you upload, lettering you type, AI descriptions, and the files and previews we generate.
- Billing: your plan, download balance and purchase history. Card details, billing name, country and postal code go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers; we only see the card brand, last four digits and expiry date.
- Usage: counts of previews and AI requests, used to enforce usage limits, plus standard server logs.
How we use it
To run the service, process payments, prevent abuse, answer support requests and send essential account emails, and to measure how our ads perform (see Cookies and ads below). We don't sell your data for money, and we don't use your artwork to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
- Clerk, for sign-in and account management
- Stripe, for payments, invoices and fraud prevention. Stripe also uses payment information to detect and prevent fraud across its network, as described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Supabase, for our database and private file storage
- Google (Gemini API), only when you choose AI cleanup or AI design, to process that image or description
- Our hosting providers, which run the website and the stitch engine
- Advertising partners, including Meta, for advertising cookies (see below)
Where it's processed
We're based in the US, and our providers process data in the US and other countries. When data leaves the UK or EU, they rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Designs stay in your library until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a design removes its uploads and files from storage. When you close your account we delete it within 30 days. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Most of this is available in the app; for anything else email support@satinsmith.com. If you're in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies and ads
We use the cookies needed to keep you signed in, process payments and remember your cookie choices.
We also use advertising cookies and similar technologies from advertising partners, including Meta, to measure how our ads perform and to show them to people likely to be interested. These partners may receive information about your visit, such as pages viewed and purchases, with technical details like your IP address and browser, and may use it under their own privacy policies.
In the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, advertising cookies stay off unless you accept them. Elsewhere they're on unless you turn them off, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as turning them off. Under some US state laws this may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising; turning advertising cookies off is how you opt out. The site works the same either way.
